For most of his life, the community has come to know Marc Thompson as "Mr.Marc", the owner of Mr.Marc's Barbershop. God allowed him to use his life and his professional skills to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone willing to listen. 

In 2010 the lord added the title of "Pastor" to his resume where the strength, wisdom, and favor of God alone enabled Pastor Marc with his wife and Co-Pastor Amanda Thompson, to minister to such a diverse population of believers, manage successful businesses and maintain a happy loving home. Pastors Marc and Amanda have been married over 34 years, and are the proud parents of three, and grandparents of six. 

It was 2001 when The Lord gave the initial vision to Pastor Marc about "New Day Ministries". It would be another 8 years until The Lord said it was time to move, on what he had shown. By this time, Eld. Marc was under the faithful leadership of Ret. Pastor Harris & Monica McSkimming.

Unbeknownst to him, The Lord was manifesting the 2001 vision of New Day Ministries, right under his nose. In mid-2009, Ret. Pastor Harris McSkimming announced to the congregation, that The Lord had instructed him to hand the ministry, (then known as Graceway Ministries) over to Eld. Marc. In January 2011, New Day Christian Empowerment Center was born.

Today, New Day Christian Empowerment Center serves as a multicultural, non-denominational worship center to the community. New Day C.E.C. is committed to building a church where people from all walks of life come together, worship God, and learn how to live a Godly life to the MAX!
